I love my Barefoot shoes. It took a while to figure out where to purchase them in the US, and I've never regretted the time (or money) involved. It brings a whole new view to the textures of the world.

One interesting side effect is that I'm slowly learning how to walk all over again. There's something about them that makes it very clear when my feet are annoyed at me for putting them down with too much force. Walking softly helps a lot.

Overall, my body hurts less from walking now. I would say that in normal shoes, my legs would get all crampy after a day of walking - while in the Barefoot shoes, my feet react to unforgiving surfaces. Their signals of "hey, that's a hard surface" lead me to walk softer and so I end the day with feet that clearly feel like I used them, but no crampy legs.

My overall balance has also improved slightly as I can no longer depend on thick, semi-rigid soles to support myself. This is an especially nice touch and I'm very glad for it.

+1 to Vivo Barefoot :)
